Dizy is a very fresh Canadian band that was founded in 2012 and now is doing their first steps in the music business. They are fond of live performances, so they play live in any given occasion. So far, they have been the opening act for many bands such as Anvil, Helix and April Wine being some of them. In their live shows they play a mix of their songs plus cover versions.
They kindly sent us their first song in order to have a listen plus a first impression for their music. Currently, they are in the studio preparing and recording the songs for their first album.
My opinion in that review is based on a demo song called “I see a sign”.
Well, their sound reminds me the good old classic sound of the hard and heavy bands of the ’80’s. Classic heavy metal guitar riffs, tight bass & drums in the background, and in general this song contains all the ingredients that made heavy metal so popular. Of course, we don’t speak about extension of the form (prog music) in here but for a more traditional heavy metal sound.
If I have to be perfectly honest, I should admit that when I listened to the song initially, I was expecting Ozzy’s voice to enter after the starting guitar riffs.
I don’t want to write more things here, because it is impossible to have a consistent opinion from just one song, so I will wait for a few more samples, or, for their first record.
But as a first sample, it is positive for sure…
Currently, the band has no web site. For more info please visit their guitarist’s site http://www.dannygrawbarger.com/bio.html
